homepage JAN’S DAILY FRESH REAL NEWS © 2000: Jan Cox |
| October 9,
2000. Today’s report
comes to you from the city of Tumor, New Jersey, whereat was originally
developed that most luxurious and popular style of sportswear, and also
home of the world’s largest manufacturer of Franklin Stoves, (and in fact
the birthplace of its inventor, Benjamin Stove). But of instant interest
to us is the town’s name vis a vis particular military-medical affairs
and their metaphorical connection to that specific aspect of consciousness,
the sole subject of my daily dispatches. World War One introduced the
modern age of chemical warfare, and doctors soon discovered an unexpected
result thereof, to wit. Certain types of preexisting tumors in soldiers
exposed to certain types of the gases were found to be destroyed, reduced,
or inhibited, and the primary "drug" used today in the chemotherapy treatment
of cancer is one of these previous "poisons." And while this is not an
entirely new piece of human history, in that the whole approach of antibiotical
medicine is established on a similar basis, I find the direct
transformation of a toxin-into-a-treatment too deliciously pertinent to
the struggle to awaken to pass up. Just consider: Treating that most dreaded
& deadly of physical human ills -- cancer -- with a form of a substance
that is itself a deadly poison. I could not make up a more exhilarating
allegory for what a person’s thoughts must do to cleanse, and reform themselves
even if I wanted to. The most dreaded & despised ill known to the
few is their ordinary state of thought, and the only efficacious treatment
available is a form of a known toxin -- thought. The parallel is not perfect
in that the drug used in chemotherapy is a diluted version of the battlefield
gas, while the form of thought required to treat deluded thought is not
dilutionary, but, revolutionary. Just as a chemical toxin seeks
to destroy somatic cells, the type of thought employed by a man trying-to-get-to-the-bottom-of-things
seeks a similar fate for certain of his neural ones, (metaphorically speaking,
of course). For a man seeking to discover, The Secret Of Life, (or
in fact if there is one), his present thoughts are like a cancer on his
mind. If he is alert & qualified, he quickly realizes that they
are of no help in his quest. And yet, in an adventure that
takes place solely in thought, thought is all that is present and available.
So: what to do? What-to-do to begin with is obvious: abandon present
thinking, (or at least as a start, abandon any faith therein, which, [to
a quick-study-person], is clearly unwarranted.) No, what is
needed is some type of new and radically different thinking. And
as per my prescription, thinking of a sort that presents toxicity to your
present form. People with that certain special hunger initially look for
fulfillment outside themselves, just as a physically hungry man instinctively
knows he must seek nourishment that is outside of himself; everyone understands
that a man cannot consume his own flesh and sustain himself thereby.
Notwithstanding the illusion indigenous to ordinary thought, what
applies to the tangible in man does not necessarily do so in his otherwise
aspects. Thought naturally conceives of a hunger being satisfied
by nourishment -- not by poison, (which is certainly true of the
body), but what ordinary thought is incapable of naturally conceiving
concerning its own intangible domain is that to satisfactorily feed Jesse
James you need to send Billy The Kid. It is time wasting enough
to trail after your own automatically appearing thoughts so just consider
how much more so it is to chase after someone else’s, (mine excepted of
course). To ever get beyond just thinking about, and talking about, “being-more-awake-&-knowing-what’s-really-going-on”,
you need to find your own way, as best you can, to stop your reflexive
acceptance-of, and reliance-on the thoughts that endlessly pass through
your head. We know this is easier to enunciate than it is to execute,
but if you do not even try on a consistent basis, nothing whatsoever is
possible, no matter how “sincere” you say you are. Picture to yourself
some mental scene that captures what I have described: taking something
that is detrimental to your purpose, and putting it into a form by which
it becomes a salubrious treatment -- and in the instant case
regarding thought -- treatment of itself. Do not
be too long confused or misled; there is nothing that will rescue a man
who has accepted as relative fact that in his mind, “He sleeps & dreams”
whereas he might “awaken” from this dreary, boring and torpid condition,
other than what goes on IN his mind. England can never be saved
by France; nor your lungs by your liver, nor you by Jesus, or Buddha,
or me. Only thought can rescue thought from its present situation,
but not thought that really much even resembles current thought.
The new thought needed is nearly toxic to the norm, which is why I continue
to recommend that you have tattooed in a place appropriate to you, the
words: “No One Knows What They Are Talking About”, (excluding me, of course).
Jan A current rumor has it that if you do not internally stare on a regular basis your consciousness will get all screwed up. (Even though it is just a rumor, you can't be too careful now days.) |
