Time: 7:20 am; place, a beach near Mackay, Australia. Off shore, The Great
Barrier Reef, once pronounced the world’s largest living organism, but
now replaced by a multi thousand acre area of mushrooms whose underground
connections make the visible growth in fact a singular organism and the
present record holder of the above mentioned title. But be not too hastily impressed for I have an alternative nominee whose size shamefully dwarfs the fungus field, and I refer to nothing less than "Collective Human Consciousness." Its right to the title, "World’s Largest Living Organism" is easily observed by anyone interested, and recognizing its stature in this regard answers many questions that ordinary men find so disturbing as to be usually ignored. But be ignored they shall not here be. The conscious thoughts passing through all men’s brains are all connected. Any objective survey makes this blatantly clear. Human thought is a single living thing, world wide in size. Individual men do not "think" -- the unified organism does. How is it possible that a man cannot tell anyone what he is going to think or say next? And how can complete strangers carry on a normal conversation with each party seamlessly giving an appropriate response to whatever the other party says when neither one of them has any knowledge of what the other will say next, and thus have no preparation for their ready and relevant reply? And how does a particular subject, previously of no interest to anyone become, almost overnight, the hot topic of conversation and concern of many diverse people throughout the world? Note that the matters I mention in the last three paragraphs are not broached in the common mental marketplace. The questions have no common-based, mental answer. There is only one answer; an observable, demonstrable one: Human thought is a single living organism, and what it thinks and says within itself is what separate men connected thereto believe that they individually think and say. And while this is simply my own created verbal model of what is going on, the readily observable manifestations of its reality are endlessly all around you, and ceaselessly within you. All you have to do to see it is -- stop & look. Until experience proves otherwise you would expect that pointing out to a man the undeniable fact that he never knows what he is going to say next would instantly shake him so fundamentally as to cause a radical change in his permanent state of mind. But it does not. Noting this fact to an ordinary man will have no effect beyond perhaps, momentarily raising an eyebrow. Then it is ignored as quickly as it was heard -- never to be thought of again. Does this not seem unbelievable?! -- that a man, when confronted with the reality that from one instant to the next he has no idea what he will say next, can shrug and then go on as though he had witnessed nothing of any significance?! When faced with this obvious truth, why doesn’t a man go instantly mad, or his head explode? Because it is not him talking, or doing the thinking that is ordinarily assumed to be behind all that is said. No, it is the living entity of Collective Human Thought, thinking and speaking through individual men. You do not have to know what you are going to think or say next -- Collective Thought knows for you. Your consciousness and mouth are just Collective Thought’s outlets. They are like a locally operated franchise of a large international enterprise. Or: your thoughts and words are the thoughts and sounds of a ventriloquist’s dummy. It is all quite obvious and out in the open. All you need is the desire to see things as they really are, along with some ability to periodically stop pretending that you know certain things which you clearly do not. Two men who have never met can carry on a two-way, speak-&-respond conversation as effortlessly and seamlessly as though they were reading from a prepared script, and they are able to pull off this absolutely amazing, inexplicable, (albeit, never talked-about), feat by merely opening their mouths at the appropriate times and the words that The Collective Mind of man has to say come magically popping out. From one view you could picture this as The Collective Thought organism talking to itself. And finally consider my tres proposition; a matter
of no public interest is suddenly on the minds and in the mouths of
people all over the world, and none of the people involved helped plan
the occurrence, nor had they any expectation of the abrupt significance
it has in their thoughts, temporarily assumed. But by my model the matter
has not taken on significance in their lives, and it is of no more real
interest to them now than it was prior to the circumstances I describe.
What has happened is that the Collective Thought Organism has taken
an instant interest in the matter and is now, (so to speak), rolling
it over in its mind by doing so in men’s minds. That is how, almost
like a wind blown virus, the matter becomes topical, simultaneously
throughout the mortal population. The Hints: Stay aware as much as possible of
the fact that you do not know what you are going to think or say next,
.............and it is not. |
