Everyone has an explanation for what is going on except those who know.
The
minimum threshold for consciousness is being able to explain why
you
and others do what you do,
and
the more numerous and complex are your explanations,
the
more intelligent you are taken to be.
Non
conscious creatures are not expected to explain their behavior;
men
judge instinct to be theirs,
but
men do not accept such blind programming as the motivating force
in
their own affairs,
which
has given birth to mythology, religion, history, psychology and sociology,
and
the various individual practices of self justification.
To
be conscious is to want to explain things -- primarily yourself,
in
fact (as per world wide creation myths) the first thing man does
when
he is given consciousness and the ability to verbally respond to inquiries,
is
to explain cum justify himself,
(as
for instance, Adam’s very first words -- to his own creator no less
--
after
being asked about certain of his actions).
Consciousness
is responsible for man being able to make the physical world around him
more comfortable and survivable,
and
it does so via what men call science & technology --
which
is simply consciousness being able to explain the physical world
in
such fashions that his muscles are then able to produce
the
desirable changes therein,
but
consciousness does not stop there;
it
unhesitatingly moves its focus from technology to psychology;
from
why the mixture of certain chemicals produce a certain result,
to
why the mixture of humans in groups produces the behavior it does:
an
endeavor which passes perfunctory muster at all only with those who
have
no idea-of, or real interest-in what is actually going on, (6 bil +/-).
Demonstratively,
life itself displays no interest in mankind collectively having
a
more precise conception of what is going on with them –
with
the world outside of them, yes, but not the one inside of them;
life
seems quite satisfied to leave each man’s consciousness to come up with
its
own explanation of itself and everyone else,
and
shows no overall inclination to have men realize the emptiness of
their
explanations.
No
explanation from any ordinary human mind
has
ever explained in any manner the nature of man and his actions;
men
have attempted to do so allegorically,
and
they attempt to do so scientifically,
but
only other ordinary men are at all taken in by these efforts;
but
ordinary men are supposed to be so agreeably hoaxed;
it
harms no one;
it
is the way life wants it;
it
is the way it is --- for most.
For
whatever reason, life ships a few bodies from the factory which have
a
slight difference in their neural wiring from the standard model,
and
these few are not able to accept (with a straight face)
the
explanations for things which satisfy everyone else;
usually
they cause no disturbance in that they usually get no further than
denouncing
the common explanations,
an
act that finally places them firmly amongst the ordinary,
in
that a vital part of all meaningless explanations is equally vacuous criticisms
thereof,
so
these traducers-of-explanations are playing securely on the home team.
But
if one of these potential warriors is wired just
right (however that is)
he
will soon realize that any comment made about the meaningless
is
itself without value -- it is as plain and simple as that –
yet
invisible to a planet full of creatures with eyes/I’s.
Such
a person sees correctly the emptiness of all repeated explanations for
life
and
for the behavior of man,
and
recognizes just as clearly the inanity of his own reactive detractions
thereof –
which
leads such an inchoate explorer to the very edge of what
ordinary
consciousness defines as -- reality,
and
when he peers over the edge,
he
sees for himself the explanation for everything,
and
after that -- he knows no explanations,
(thus the headline):
Everyone has an explanation for what is going on except those who know.
