People
whose thinking is influenced by other people’s thinking do not actually
think;
that
is: they do not use their mind to its full capacity;
also:
people whose thinking is influenced by other people’s thinking are normal,
predictable
and the heartland of collective humanity.
Offical
requirements concerning broadcasting forces this announcement in Bob's
head before & after each thought he experiences:
“This
is Bob’s mind and he approved this message.”
When
asked if what he does is stand-up-comedy, a man replied:
“Only
when I am not seated.”
A
father said to a son:
“Ordinary
minds like to say that ‘Man creates his future’ when it is the reverse
–
almost:
his fears of a future help make him what he appears to be.”
“Pa pa: what is the difference between what you are and what you appear
to be?”
“Appear
to be to whom? – to yourm or to others?”
“Hummmm, people do not normally think in terms of them possibly appearing
to
themselves to be different than they really are – it’s always
about how they
seem to others --
which sounds strange, now that you’ve prodded me into
pondering such a matter.”
“Here’s
an even better one: People are continually talking about how they,
or
someone else are ‘not their self’ – question: How can
a person not be their self?
Run
that one over and over in your thoughts, examining its extensive implications.”
The
Hard-Nose View (Applicable Only To The Few).
When
you read or listen to the words of others you outsource your ability
to think.
Without
feeling that their ideas and actions are significant to the ultimate fate
of man, how could those of routine consciousness carry on?
Nothing
is as funny to the certain-man as him (his own nervous-system to
be more specific);
simply
becoming suddenly aware of his own consciousness can be the instant source
of great personal frivolity.
There
is only one piece of good advice in the entire universe of man:
Consider
everything you hear to be mere harmless speculation
(well,
it would be harmless if you didn’t take it so seriously).
The
endless desire for revenge is a sterling example of the never-ending dance
of
the
3
Forces, in that human conflict (like
everything else alive) cannot come to a conclusion that satisfies all involved.
(“Keep on dancing or we’re all done for.”)
When
an electrical system is reversed it will instantly shut down.
(Is
there something useful the nervous-system-rebel might glean from that?)
One
man asks: “What's the use in reading if it doesn’t make you angry or depressed?”
Man’s
routine emotions reside in a nervous-system area of constant turmoil
where
certain of Life’s growth
energies are struggling to expand via man;
this
area (though vital for Life
& collective man) is quite disruptive to an individual
attempting
to get-to-the-bottom-of-things, and a spot he should avoid.
Ordinary
emotions in their role as protector have the side effect of acting as a
captor
of
consciousness; distracting it from its essential talent to think and reason.
Klean
kids don’t play in a septic field.
For
fun, one man pictures the few as having a motto: In focus – in
transit.
Just
being-yourself
based on the self you find yourself with at age twenty
is
no achievement and only feeds already outdated nervous-system connections
while
starving any alternative ones.
To
see
and to know is to have no fear, for only the unknown and the imagined
future
can
produce such fear;
when
you understand what is going on you have no past, hence no basis for
a
fearful imaginary future.
Everything
makes sense to a man who makes sense, (okay, put more precisely):
Everything
makes sense to a consciousness that makes sense of things.
Accepting
only the thoughts that automatically appear in your mind as thinking
is
akin to having a library filled with books and never reading any.
With
special equipment outside themselves (telescopes) men can look back in
time
via
the space of the Universe;
the
few (via special instruments developed inside of them) can do likewise
by moving far enough away from their natural born self to give sufficient
space for them to
look
into the normally hidden genetic past of Life.
Said
a father to a son:
“Can
you now begin to see man’s mentally based 'I'
as being a scaffolding for
Life’s
continual unfinished construction.”
“And don’t forget his ‘I’s’ dreams.”
“A
given, but always worth mentioning.”
Without
some truly extraordinary effort and intent, ordinary men cannot realize
that
they
relive their lives over and over, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.
From
a certain perspective, this kind of activity could be seen as the attempted:
Great
Interference, but to be profitable
one must understand where interference is profitable.
(Always remembering that a stopped process is a dead process.)
At
normal eye/I level
it all seems like a merry go round,
while
in the certain man’s head
-- it is a roller coaster ride.
Speaking
to his flock, so said a wise man:
“If
you discovered a priest drunk and with a whore, which would be of most
profit:
denounce
him as an insult to all he stands for, or, once he’s aware that you’ve
seen
him,
pass on with never a comment thereabout?” and someone in his audience
shouted
out: “You don’t fool me, you’re back talking about stuff that might go
on inside
one
man’s consciousness,” which also didn’t fool the man who asked the question,
recognizing
his heckler as one of his own synapses.
(It’s
neat how things work out for those who are worked-out.)
Amidst
the everyday confusion & frustration of ordinary life, what is it that
the few
desire
but accelerated forms of excitement & discontent – confusing?
–
For
certain of Life’s needs,
routine men must stay affixed to the thoughts that appear
magically
in their heads to maintain a sense of an in-head-I
that is apart from
Life’s
greater processes;
even
though they are unable to properly function outside the herd, each cow
nonetheless
has imprinted in its mental circuitry a vague sensation of individuality,
sufficient
to meet the needs of Life’s.
Man’s
nervous-system acts like a magnetic field; attracting and repelling,
and
being attracted to and repelled by other such fields;
being
of ordinary consciousness is having the neural end of your nervous-system
in
a positive or negative magnetic state;
the
extraordinary few struggle to achieve a neutral neural condition whereby
their
consciousness is not at the complete mercy of their routine mental current.
They
are the previously noted: Resistors.
A
wandering world traveler tells this tale:
“I
once meet a man near the far east mountains who appeared most sad and dispirited;
he engaged me in conversation and began asking questions regarding the
meaning and nature of human existence; I politely informed him that in
the past I had frequently spoken about such matters with others but never
with any satisfying results,
and
taking this as my conclusive comment, he stood, pulled his robe tight round
him, raised himself to his full height and said: ‘Well, fuck you,’ then
seizing this unique moment (and relying on my extensive background in psychology,
philosophy and metaphysics) I immediately replied: ‘Well fuck you too.’
He
stopped, stared at me intently, stroked his beard for a bit then said:
‘I
believe I understand,’ and thinking back on it, you know –
maybe he did,
(then again,
maybe not).”
