An Experienced Beach

....no longer disturbed by the endless, mechanical pounding it must take, and about which it can do nothing,
in that this is the natural situation between beaches and waves.
If there is one universal law it is: Habit;
Reality as perceived by humans is constructed of--
and totally dependent on--Habit;
only when things are going in their habitual fashion,
do mortals consider life to be normal.
When temporary deviations therefrom appear,
men feel that circumstances have become UN-real.
People are healthy and physically satisfied when habit within them prevails; what disturbs the few is that no exception is made for thought....Life depends on habit, and ill-placed displeasure therewith only creates unnecessary agitation.
One man said:
"The problem with getting old
is that you start to look old,"
and another guy thought:
"Well, that's one advantage being asleep has over aging."
(and Why Not be as blunt and direct about this as possible.)
Another Day at the University:
To his students, the speaker said:
"Not only is he a fool who will not quit when is is ahead,
but how about he who will not quit even after he realizes
that there is no more 'Ahead' ahead!?
Not only is he a fool, my friends, he is also--Me."
Down the hall in another classroom
a speaker said to a certain, select audience:
"When I tell you that, as concerns the few, there is a difference between being 'satisfied' and being 'content,' I am not merely playing-with-words....but me saying this could be an example OF my playing-with-words....OR I could be SERIOUS when I say it, and not realize myself that I am still playing-with-words!
(Of course, it's all just playing-with-words....that's all you can DO with words.)
