Most Secondary Activities serve the purpose of diminishing the possibility of the mind drifting to areas wherein it might be prompted to "catch on" to what's--going on....
(Tut, Tut! Can't have that!)

The much-quoted idea that
The Unexamined Life is not Worth Living
omits to note a pertinent aspect that bears directly on the matter of interest. For practical purposes, it should read:
The unexaminable part of Life is the only one worth living--and, in truth, the unexaminable part of Life IS the one we actually live.

Two Takes:
(1) In all of his talk about himself a man is trying to "define what he is"....but not very hard;

(2) In all of his talk about himself a man is trying to do anything but define himself.

(When a man seems to be trying tell you what-kinda-guy-he-is, he's doing anything BUT.)

(The ultimate aspect of not-wanting-to-know
who/what you are is in your mind's refusal
to see that it's thoughts are almost entirely
irrelevant to the life you actually lead.)

Even the best of minds cannot decide whether the universe is infinite, or not, and for the simple reason that "infinite" is just a word men's minds made up and which no one understands....since it has no meaning....outside of it being a word that men made up.

One man mused: "I guess anybody could understand the mind just by watching it if you could do it without thinking about it."
"Well hell!" said another guy,
"Based on that I'd be awake if I could just stop thinking about how asleep I am!"
And a third guy said: "Hey-y-y-y-,
Don't get me started!"

(A view that stays entirely off most men's instant replay is the one which reveals his environment to be as much a "decision maker" as any activity within him.)
