One City "intellectual" said, "Hey, I couldn't be ‘much’ of an intellectual to let myself get roped into a Daily News item."
Naw, just foolin', he didn't actually say that, what he did say was, "All unknown facts seem interesting until you know them."
Department of "Words Will Survive No Matter ‘What’ You Say":
Anyone named Flatamus Maximus should cut down on flatamuses.
Although the pay for being a Smart Aleck is relatively low,
at least the hours are irritating.
One ole man told his kid as being-pushed-from-the-nest commenced,
"My dispatch gift to you, my boy, is a mental weapon, a secret tool to recall, and it's this: If there's something you just 'don't want to think about' -- don't think about it. Now, off with you!"
All recognized, established ideas are already retired.
"Welcome aboard, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking;
we will be sailing shortly, and I would like to remind you that 'romance' is permitted ONLY among those in First Class."
(On some vessels the purser would do a "follow-up" to this by reminding that "First Class is where no one calls fuckin' 'fuckin.'")
(Some more cheap fun):
If you think stuff far enough ahead,
then when you actually "get around to thinking it"
it'll be like a surprise.
This one chap said most distinctly,
"No one understands me quite so well as my own partner." --
who happened to be passing and injected,
"But I don't understand you at all."
and the chap said -- "See."
Any question that "has an answer" can “BE” answered
(although the two are not necessarily the same).
Building a new stadium
back at the old playing field
is just about what you think it is.
Taking the full vertical measure of himself in a mirror, this one chap touched his head and said, "My mind is the caldron in which wisdom stews." He then held his hips and continued, "And my body is the sturdy rack upon which it stands, and," he concluded, "The fuel is from the fat, grease and blubber of my all too, too, too human emotions."
When it rains in the City,
many revolutionists feel homesick.
One fellow from the east sector of town would put things most succinctly by saying, "Let's put these things in succinct perspective by just forgetting them."
Those who don't “want” you to understand will go to great pains to explain.
(Please note: In this universe there is only one "those": Life.)
