Elucidation :
The
difference between (let's say) sex and
The Secret is that
you can
talk about sex, and
talk about sex;
talk about sex, and
talk about sex.
You can
talk about sex, and
talk about sex;
talk about sex,
and talk about sex.
A comedian who is certain beforehand that the audience will laugh at his
jokes is no real artist and please note this item is not actually about
show biz, or in fact anything taking place outside of one individual.
The nature of man's nature is to hold to things as they
are,
while the nature of his mind is to alter all conditions.
After reading a news item that mentioned "just because something's
absurd doesn't mean it's not true,"
a reader wrote to say:
"Don't you be talking to me about the absurd -- not after the
kinds of things you've been obviously trying to talk me into doing!"
Legend
has it that there was once a mystical school which went by the
name:
"It's Actually Pretty Simple --
In Fact, Perhaps, Too Much So For Most."
(But they went out of business.)
The
original nature of each man starts off sans mind,
but eventually it becomes as much a part thereof as any other aspect.
Once Eden's been abandoned,
and the silent world aroused,
there is no going back -- only, always, on ahead,
on, toward a potential new Eden.
The nature of the mind is to try and exert its influence
over man's instinctive nature, which is neither good nor bad in itself
– but you need be aware that the mind is primarily concerned with
its interests, and gives little thought to instinctive needs.
