[All of you were first looking for a "great experience" or "great knowledge". Experiences and knowledge: the two main divisions of man's seeking. Experience is mainly a matter of lower circuitry --Red Circuit and Blue Circuit. But for The Few of This Thing in this day, the "experience" expands to include the Yellow Circuit: extraordinary knowledge becomes experience --the supreme experience. With such foundation, the other, lower, circuit experiences can be self-produced. Without "E" there is virtually no experience possible; almost like not living, yet at the binary level it appears as irrelevant, meaningless. Yet to increasingly define and bring E to the forefront, increasingly activate the middle area of the circuitry, results in the disappearance of circumstances and situations problematic to you. At the binary level, solutions can't exist or the triaxial dance would stop. Solutions must always carry the next question --evoke the consequent problem.]
[Re: diagram 61. Energy appears to enter each person from the Not-I direction; horizontally from "out there", as opposed to vertically. For the ordinary, felt pressure has its apparent origin "out there" or "in here" --there seems to be a dual mode; pressure is felt to be negative. For the Few, pressure is felt to be a "positive pressurization" from another direction; a new source of pressure. Relation to Conscience: a kind of non-suffering pressure.]
[The progress of horizontal history with the city as the primary symbol of civilization. Cities can also be defined as places to store food for the benefit of in-town specialists --artisan class. A continuing supply of food from the farmers/ hunters for a new strata of civilization can be stored in cities, thus the city's importance. Parallel for This Thing: you need to produce a "city in yourself" to store minimal nutrition allowing a move away from dependence on Red level (farmers-only) toward evolution of cooperating/transacting diversified specialists subsisting on stored-food.]
[What is ordinarily known prevents acquisition of "new-knowing".]
[ TASK: How much of civilization/technology could you personally create/reconstruct after devastation by say, nuclear holocaust? What could you re-invent in your exclusive responsibility to get civilization started again?

To varying degrees, what you all sought, even before you met This Thing, was an experience.  It was that quest for an experience that drove you to do whatever you did, whether it was chasing down a fabled Tibetan monk or reading a 2,000 year old religious treatise or drinking hot lead.  It could be said that there is a division between knowledge and experience, and although you might have believed you were obtaining certain knowledge through the reading of mystical texts, you were all seeking an experience.

Some of you have expressed a dearth of a certain kind of experience in This Thing.  No one gave you a secret word that changed you overnight nor were you taught a particular dance that sent you whirling trance-like for days.

Historically all religions, all forms of mysticism have been involved with "experiences".  The experiences touched primarily, if not almost entirely, the Red and Blue Circuits.  You know what I'm speaking about -- it happens in churches when the participants in frenzied testimonials claim to have been touched by the gods, it happens with hallucinogenic drugs, etc.  It is an experience.  But it has almost nothing to do with gaining any sort of new knowledge.

It has now reached a time for certain people to move beyond Red and Blue Circuit experiences and onto an experience that is a new one for Life.  The experience is the discovery that new understanding itself is the experience.  It's not just revving up the Red Circuit to get people to smile and hug their fellow followers.  Nor is it the tingling of the Blue Circuit.  It is the attainment of a certain knowledge that is not ordinarily available, which activates unused systems within a man's circuitry.  For those Few who need it, this kind of extraordinary knowledge is the supreme experience.

If it were possible to extract the E-flow -- all that is irrelevant -- out of a situation, problem or circumstance, you would no longer have a situation, problem or circumstance.  If you live a life, if you lived an hour without E-force, you would not have lived.  Wherever there is life, there E resides.  E is always alive, pertinent and dynamic.

Within the binary universe there are no answers, no solutions.  Once you glimpse this for yourself, you are no longer left with lingering questions about finding solutions to problems.  Ever since the Yellow Circuit has been writing and talking, someone has always been expressing some variation of the idea that for every question that seems to be answered, another question arises.  You can take this from the theoretical realm and study it in your own internal laboratory.  Has there ever been a real question to which a Line level answer in some way just wiped out the question?  And that that was the END of it.  There was an unequivocal and final period.  All you have to do is look into your own nervous system to find that under ordinary conditions there has never been such an occurrence.  No problem simply had a solution that you wrested from the bowels of the earth and that was the end of it.  A closed book.  You just walked away with no memory of it.  Quite literally, at the binary level, there are no solutions, because a solution would stop the triaxial dance.

Of course at the ordinary level it does appear that things move right along and progress on the basis of what?  Answers and solutions.  But there is a scientific, in a very real sense of the word, basis that makes answers and solutions forbidden.  The eternal questions of, "Why is there good and evil?" can not be answered from a binary viewpoint.  If true answers were possible, the triaxial dance would freeze because there's always a moving partner in any situation, problem or circumstance.  An apparent cure to any problem would kill it, and if somebody came up with an answer to something really big, Life itself would be mortally wounded.

I'm going to give you some verbal and schematic descriptions regarding the directions that energy can travel.  Under all ordinary conditions what seems to make life worthwhile, what holds your interest -- in everything from food and sex to money, fame, insults and sorrows -- is fueled by energy from a horizontal direction.  Everything within Life is fed by energy from the horizontal level.  The Few, on the other hand, must become a channel for energies coming from a vertical direction.  This is not an all or nothing experience wherein you'll suddenly be fueled from an entirely new direction.  But you must begin to be open to some percentage of vertical energy, be it 5%, 10%, or 30%, and no longer be fueled in toto from the horizontal level.

As an aside you might note that throughout historical literature and tales, in all the oral histories you may have heard, whenever anyone claims to have heard the voices of the gods, what did he do?  He looked up!  You never hear of someone talking to a god located down around his feet or doing a double-take to a god tapping his shoulder from behind.  Such stories also speak of a sensation of new energy, that the experience bestowed a new energy upon them.  And there is an absolute reality to it.

As long as you can be fed and satisfied by purely horizontal energy, then you can wait around a very, very long time for a non-ordinary, mystical experience.

Neuralize these horizontal and vertical movements in relationship to the pressures men and women feel.  At Line level you feel pressure either from "out there" (the Not-I) or from "something inside".  It's a dual pressure and it assumes myriad verbal forms:  "My boss is always on my back" to "I want to become a better person."  At Line level, pressure from "out there" and pressure from "inside" are the only two possibilities, and they account for all ordinary suffering.  These pressures account for everything from grief over the fact that you don't look like a movie star, to your feeling of pressure when a client demands an immediate delivery of goods.  They encompass everything at Line level existence.

The Few must discover a kind of positive pressurization, an equalization of the ordinary mechanical pressures which enables them to cease being hapless victims.  This positive pressurization occurs with the addition of a third-direction, vertical pressure.

It seems to people that energy and pressure are two different things, but I'm pointing you towards an unknown connection through these mappings.  These descriptions are quite real, not psychological nor spiritual, but observable.  Observable only from a different dimension, with an new kind of intelligence. (And eventually I will have to fashion a new word for intelligence.  Not simply a Yellow Circuited activity, but the kind of intelligence which enables one to Hear and entertain that which he should not be able to Hear and entertain.)

All the stories -- spanning all cultures -- of the wise prophets hearing the words of the gods and being sent forth to tell others -- are a reflection of reality.  Because the knowledge, the experience was not produced from the horizontal direction of ordinary life.  To wait for certain information and energy, the kind you hope will ignite you in a never-before-experienced way, to come horizontally, is to wait forever.  You must open yourself to receive energy from somewhere else.  And I'm suggesting to you most strongly that this new source of energy produces a new source of pressure.  In light of this, Neuralize the old idea of conscience.  Although everybody talks about it, only the Few have any sensation of the reality behind the word conscience.

Conscience is a pressure that can't be taught.  If it could be taught, the churches would be full of true Christians, the mosques would overflow with true Muslims.  This is no attack, it is simply the way things are. The idea of conscience, the fact that people speak of conscience, without knowing its reality serves a purpose in Life's body.  It is Life speaking through Man about something that very likely will become possible.  Pieces of it are already happening.  But the reality of conscience is not yet a part of Man's wiring and you can't suffer over its absence in humanity.  Indeed, it's used as proof in religions:  "Now that you know the tenets of this religion and the list of things you should not do, at least you're getting better because you suffer over the fact that you still do them.  At least you know what to suffer about and, you can see you have a conscience."

There is a physical basis, a new source of pressure from a vertical direction, that is the reality behind conscience.  And few ever taste it.  When you feel energy coming into you vertically, you will be open to See the pictures, Hear the voices, Do the do.  If you could just get some percentage of your total energy from a vertical direction and hold it, even just for a few hours, you will know the reality behind conscience. And you'll see why no one else knows what it is.  Once you know the magnitude of the profit, after you see the common source to all of This, then you will Understand conscience.  And you will no longer be able to do certain things.  You can't pay that high a price for going against conscience.  It has nothing to do with religion, morality, cultural background or any theory you've ever held dear.  It is a pressure that doesn't come from the horizontal direction; it comes from somewhere else.  And once you've tasted it, you can no longer talk about it.

As the Yellow Circuit developed in Man, it could be said that civilization began to rise from the chaos of lower circuit humanity.  One aspect in the rise of civilization is the development of towns and cities, people coming together.  A city could be defined as a place to store food because everything, remember, goes back to mining and manufacturing.  It doesn't matter if you're all dressed up, if you drive a sports car or think great thoughts -- you have to have food to eat.  Everything always gets back to the Red Circuit.  So I am defining, and not incorrectly, cities/civilizations, as a place to store food.  There had to be a steady food supply to support all the non-agricultural specialists.

Put on your tights and cape and quickly leap from my description of an phenomenon "out there", to an internal reference point.  To do This Thing, you must take the necessary basic food from all three circuits and store it -- build an instant internal town.  You want the specialists to be able to go about their business, unconcerned about the production of the minimal food necessary to sustain Red, Blue, and Yellow circuited activities.  You could not have an advancing civilization if all its people were concerned with growing food and having sex.  The point is, that the city needs a place to store food to protect the constant supply needed by its residents.  To do This Thing, to specialize, you need to store and have available the minimal foods necessary.  Otherwise you have to continually run back to the fields, back to the mines, just to sustain your basic existence.  You should be beyond this.  Not only should you have your needed food in storage but also I might add, you must get to the point where only minimal amounts of food -- energy, information, attention -- are required by the circuits for their sustenance.  To activate the system vertically demands a conservation of energy within the lower system.

Here are two statements that sound contradictory.  "Everything ordinarily known keeps one from knowing the new," and, "If a person could Remember everything he already knew, he would know it all." Both are true.  How can this be?
